On Saturday, November 13th we had the always fun and “Challenging” Challenge Tournament !!!! It was a perfect day for mid-November – couldn’t ask for better !!!  It was a perfect day for mid-November – couldn’t ask for better !!!

We aren’t sure if we should applaud or hiss Steve Giampietro and Paul Teachout for the setup, but honestly it was very fun, very fair and as stated – Challenging !!! On holes 3 and 13, they were designated as “One Club” holes.  You had to pick one club from the tee and start and finish the hole with that club.  Congrats to both Blake Urbano and Manoj who both birdied #3 with one club.  What made that hole harder was that the tee was right next to the temp green for #2 with a tree directly in front of you.  Birdie is always a great score on 3, Saturday it was near impossible !!!! I know on 13 I hit 5 iron, to about 125 yards.  Then chipped my 5-iron into the right greenside bunker than standing in the bunker with a 5-iron skulled it out way over the green, chipped on and 2 putted for a nice double !!!! Crazy, but fun !!

Lots of really good scores and some head scratchers.  What I tell people beforehand in this event, if you plan on coming out and shooting your personal best, you will leave very disappointed !!  This tournament is just not set up that way.  You need a mindset of it being tough but fun.  That it was !!!  I think most of us had a great attitude and had a blast. 

I want to recognize the winners of each flight.  We paid gross and net winners in both categories with 2 places.  Full results are attached.

We did have two overall DFL’s !!  We always want to recognize that accomplishment !!!
