We held The Memorial Tournament this past Saturday, as we remembered our longtime member and friend Bob Pitzer.  The day started early with an 8 AM shotgun start.  Thanks to Ashley & his crew for getting the course ready for us early and as always to Dennis and his crew, Anita & Chef for all they do.  We also want to give a shout out to Mike Duckles and the Carolina Ale House for sponsoring our closet to the pin prizes on the par threes.  

On to golf, amazing scoring this year!!!  8 teams broke 60, with 3 teams tied at 56!!  Congrats to the winning team on a scorecard playoff - Jamie Lightsey, Dillon Burkholder, Anand Kurup and Matt Layne!!  After golf we gathered in the Oakroom for a meal and some great Bob Pitzer stories.  We are so glad that many of Bob's family members including Patti were able to join us for this!! Thank you to Dave Sturick who did a great job emceeing this portion of the day!

This year the FMMGA and with some proceeds from this year's tournament, we were able to purchase The Memorial Bench, which will be placed on 10 tee box.  We will go back and get name plates for our fallen friends/members since the first year we held The Memorial, 2001.  A photo of Bob's name plate is included in this Memorial wrap up.  Thanks to everyone that was able to play this year, we had 84 players, which is awesome!
