On October 18th & 19th, we held our final two day tournament of the year—The FMMGA Championship. First, we'd like to thank Dennis Rysz who is the consummate PGA Professional and exceptional to work with on a weekly basis for everything FMMGA. The food was as good as I can ever remember it!  Thank you to Anita & Chef for their hard work.  Lastly, the reason we come to FMGC is for the golf and the course is in great shape. The greens are better than they have been all year!!  Thank you to Ashley Patterson and his staff for all their hard work!!

This year we had 4 divisions: Blue Tees, Member Tees, White Tees & SR Tees. Our overall champions, gross & net, can come from any division. After a fairly calm day Saturday with good scoring, Sunday the wind blew pretty strong and scoring was much more challenging!! Our overall gross champion this year is a repeat - Jason Steiner with an impressive 70,72 - 142 total, the only gross total under par for the weekend - nice playing Jason!! The net was very close. On Saturday Tim Plummer shot a 73, net 66 to hold the lead. Kenny Rouse came in on Sunday with a net total of 140 and was the leader in the clubhouse until Tommy Page came in with a net total of 139. It appeared Tommy might hang on for overall net champion until the final group came in and Greg Sexton posted a 69 gross/net for a total of 138.

We also placed our Memorial Bench on hole #10 on Saturday, photo included. This is just another way for us to honor our fallen friends/members. It is a nice addition to the course and Ashley Patterson told me the maintenance crew is going to miss it in the shed!!!
